Microdosing Marijuana Offers All the Benefits with Fewer Side EffectsBy Jessica Leone -

Microdosing marijuana is turning out to be the latest trend in marijuana infused edibles. A group of panelists at the recent New West Summit in San Francisco talked about the latest craze in the industry and its many possible benefits for marijuana users. The edible marijuana industry makes $5.4 billion a year in the sale of its marijuana infused food and drinks but, as many know, its hard at times to estimate how much is too much when it comes to these tasty treats. Too much can induce deep feelings of paranoia and panic that may last for several hours.
What is Microdosing? This brings us to the newest trend in edible marijuana: microdosing. Marijuana infused food and drinks that contain between 5 and 10 milligrams of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) are now moving onto the market. THC is the psychoactive ingredient in marijuana that gives you the high. This very low dose is barely detectable and able to give users the same feeling of relaxation as having a glass of wine in the evening. Microdosing can be done by smoking or vaping as well by partaking of significantly less than usual. The key is to start with a much smaller amount and, should more be necessary, you can increase the dose as desired.
Benefits of Marijuana MicrodosesDr. Dustin Sulak, who is the medical director for Integr8 Health in Maine has been exploring the benefits of marijuana and microdosing with patients. Last March, he told United Patients Group, I discovered that most people have a certain threshold dosage of cannabis, below which theyll actually experience a gradual increase in health benefits over time, and above which theyll start building tolerance, experiencing diminishing benefits, and more side effects. He explained that he has witnessed cancer patients respond much better to lower doses than the usual higher dose recommended. He emphasizes the need to experiment as each individual is different.
How the Microdose is Entering the MarketMany companies are now providing edibles in microdoses. Kiva Confections, which is based in California, is now selling marijuana infused chocolate coated coffee beans and dried blueberries with just 5 milligram of THC per serve. Dfonc Chocolatier, which is a relatively new company, is also joining the trend, making small doses available in their range of marijuana infused confections.

Microdoses allow you to feel the beneficial aspects of marijuana with less unwanted side effects. While marijuana has never led to injury or death, in higher doses it can produce panic, anxiety and paranoia. In the past, purchasing or being given a,....
